Why we worship: More Than a Song, Its a Surrender

Worship is one of the most powerful things the church does—not because music is special, but because God is. Worship is the language of surrender. It’s the moment we turn our attention away from ourselves and declare that Jesus is Lord, above every fear, every burden, every need, and every season.

At Celebration Church Nairobi, worship is not a performance and it is not reserved for “good days.” We worship in joy and we worship in trials, because God does not change—and His presence is still our refuge.

Worship Repositions the Heart

Life has a way of shrinking our focus until all we can see is the problem. Worship expands the heart again. When we worship, we remember who God is: He is faithful, He is powerful, He is close, and He is good.

When we worship, we don’t deny our reality—we declare that God is greater than it.

Worship That Continues After Sunday

The goal is not only to worship in church, but to live worshipfully. Worship is obedience. Worship is forgiveness. Worship is generosity. Worship is serving. It’s choosing God’s way when no one is watching.

If you’ve been feeling distant from God, worship can be a doorway back—not because it earns His love, but because it opens your heart to receive what He has already given.
